The JSWF project provides safe drinking water by:

  • Generating liquid chlorine solution using an AquaChlor electrolytic generator on-site at the Missions of Love clinic in Jolivert, Haiti.

Providing families with the initial materials (at a subsidized cost) to enter the program, including:
  • A tap and lid to covert the normal bucket water storage container into a safe storage container
  • A sticker to place on the bucket showing users how to use the product
  • A bottle with a label to store the chlorine solution in
Hiring local Community Health Technicians to:

  • Generate the chlorine
  • Train families entering the program
  • Follow-up by conducting household visits to test for correct usage (presence of chlorine residual) and train families on hygiene
  • Maintain detailed records on users and finances of the project

Selling the chlorine solution for the affordable price of 3 gourde (10 cents) to treat enough water for a family for one month through:
  • The Jolivert Clinic
  • A network of reselling stations
  • Replicate programs

This program income is used to pay the salaries of 3 full-time and 1 part-time Community Health Workers, providing much needed employment in rural Haiti.

Conducting regular monitoring and evaluation visits to ensure smooth operation of the project.

Working with other organizations to replicate and expand the project by providing:
  • Technical assistance to start a project
  • Initial materials, such as the chlorine solution
  • Monitoring and evaluation
