The Jolivert, Haiti Safe Water for Families Project

The JSWF project provides safe
drinking water by:  
- Generating liquid chlorine solution using an AquaChlor electrolytic generator on-site at
the Missions of Love
clinic in Jolivert, Haiti.
|
|
|
|
Providing families with the initial materials (at a subsidized cost) to enter the program, including:
- A tap and lid to covert the normal bucket water storage container into a safe storage container
- A sticker to place on the bucket showing users how to use the product
- A bottle with a label to store the chlorine solution in
|
|
Hiring local Community Health Technicians to:
- Generate the chlorine
- Train families entering the program
- Follow-up by conducting household visits to test for correct usage (presence of chlorine residual) and train families on hygiene
- Maintain detailed records on users and finances of the project
|
|
|
|
Selling the chlorine solution for the affordable price of 3 gourde (10 cents) to treat enough water for a family for one month through:
- The Jolivert Clinic
- A network of reselling stations
- Replicate programs
This program income is used to pay the salaries of 3 full-time and 1 part-time Community Health Workers, providing much needed employment in rural Haiti.

Conducting regular monitoring and evaluation visits to ensure smooth operation of the project.

|
Working with other organizations to replicate and expand the project by providing:
- Technical assistance to start a project
- Initial materials, such as the chlorine solution
- Monitoring and evaluation
